Spotlight Athlete of the Month | JESS REGAN

By: 0

Let’s do some quick math… Jess has attended 89 CrossFit classes in the last six months. That’s an average of 15 hard workouts a month or one every other day. Think about that for a second, since late October Jess has committed 89 hours to her fitness at CFE alone.

Consistency is the main driver in achieving results, but having the right attitude and putting in the effort throws fuel on that fire. Jess has all the ingredients for success and she still doesn’t realize how strong she is. And that’s why the coaching team would love to nominate Jess as May Athlete of the Month. Read on to learn a little bit from Jess herself.

What do you do outside of CrossFit?
I am a Speech-language Pathologist. I love being outside, at the lake, at a brewery, or anywhere with sun and dogs.

What did you do for fitness before CFE?
I ran track in College- I competed in the pentathlon and heptathlon.

What made you choose CFE?
I chose CFE because I have always liked the idea of a class-based workout and wanted something that would push me and put me outside of my comfort zone.

Advice to someone who is hesitant to try CrossFit?
The advice I would give- CFE is an incredibly supportive environment where everyone around you is going to encourage and motivate you. You might not think you can do hard things but CFE will prove you wrong!! You will feel strong and badass! You will never leave a workout regretting that you came.

Proudest achievement?
My proudest achievement so far is the confidence I have gained in myself to lift a little more weight, run a little further, row a little harder, and push down negative self-talk.

Greatest challenge?
My greatest challenge is definitely mental toughness but with the support of the coaches and members at CFE it’s getting better!

Goals moving forward in life, at the gym?
My goal is to just keep showing up and challenging myself both in and outside the gym. Do things that make me uncomfortable and keep learning!

If you could eat one thing for the rest of your life what would it be?

Processed with VSCO with m5 preset

If I could eat anything for the rest of my life it would be anything chocolate peanut butter but specifically chocolate peanut butter ice cream.

What’s a fun fact about you that we should know about you?
I recently got a Golden Retriever named Mardi! I lived in New Orleans for a little so that’s where his name comes from:)
