Meet Your Coaches – Nikki and Steve
Our team is growing! By a lot actually, but we’ll trickle that info over the next few days.
We are firm believers that it’s the community which separates CFE from other gym experiences. Which is why we’ve always focused our search for new coaches from within the membership. Over the next months you’ll see a few new faces going through training at CFEU: where we build the skills needed to transition from athlete to coach. First up, Nikki and Steve. Please help us in welcoming them to the team!
I can count on one hand the number of people I know with as much self-motivation and drive as Nikki. She may be one of the few of us that actually kept fitnessing during the shutdown last year… As a law enforcement officer, there is real world applicability to her training. But she enjoys it too, and she’s looking forward to sharing that passion with you all. Read on to learn a little bit more about Nikki that you might not already know..

As a competitive OCR athlete, Steve joined CFE and boy did he have an engine (and still does!). Hell would freeze over before you caught him without a smile on his face, even in the middle of the nastiest of workouts. Steve is constantly encouraging those around him and inevitably lifts up the mood of the room. I can’t get mad at the guy, even after he’s lapped me three times in a workout… Read on to catch up on Steve’s driving motivation to join the team
WHAT DO YOU SPECIALIZE IN?
I was introduced to Obstacle Course Racing (OCR) in 2014 and fell in love (eg, Spartan Race, Tough Mudder). Since then, I’ve really tried to learn several tips and tricks to help be more efficient and conquer what the race course puts in front of us. From 8 foot walls, to heavy carries, to spear throws, I’d love to share what I’ve learned.
WHAT ARE YOU PASSIONATE ABOUT?
Helping people achieve their goals. Outside the gym, I’m a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER, and I help people improve their financial situation. At CFE I want to do the same…help people hit their goals (and then exceed them)!
WHAT DO YOU DO FOR FUN?
We’re a very active family. Catie and I have three kids – Emma 21, Josh 18, and Izzie 11. We love to ski, run, hike, travel, and play with our Rottweiler, Bear.

I played soccer, basketball, & lacrosse through high school and ran cross country and played lacrosse at UNH. Since then, I’ve taken up hockey, running local road races, and OCR.
